Matt McCall scored three goals and Alex Shuptar added another to lead the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats to a 4-1 victory over Lycoming at Lycoming on Tuesday.
The win boosted the Diplomats record to 8-1-1. They are now ranked No. 22 in the nation in Division III and No. 3 in the Mid-Atlantic region. Lycoming dropped to 2-5-3 with the loss.
McCall scored his first goal in the 12th minute, but Lycoming came right back when Chris Lorenzet took a pass from Mike Coates and knotted the game at 1.
It was all Diplomats from there, however, as Shuptar scored on a free kick in the 43rd minute to put F&M up 2-1 at half.
McCall scored on an assist from David Steiner in the 73rd minute, then capped off the scoring two minutes later with another score to make it 4-1.
F&M outshot Lycoming 10-4. Dan Wagner's squad will travel to Gettysburg Oct. 7th for a Centennial Conference matchup.
