LANCASTER, Pa. - The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team shot 54.7 percent from the field and every player got in the scoring column to defeat Arcadia 85-49 in non-conference action on Wednesday night.
The Diplomats (5-1) recorded its highest offensive output and largest margin of victory to collect their fifth win of the season. Amanda Miceli led with 15 points, while Bradie Vaughan and Cara Landolfi added 12 points apiece.
The Knights (0-5) had three players in double figures, getting a team-high 15 points from Kim Milligan. Anna Feindt shot 5-for-7 from the floor for 14 points and grabbed seven boards.
F&M used a 34-6 run over 12 minute, 48 second span that ended the opening half and started the second stanza to open the lead to 62-28 with 13 minutes left in the game.
Miceli started the spurt with two free throws and Landolfi pulled down two offensive rebounds that turned into layups in the paint to make it 33-22 at the 4:06 mark of the first half.
Joanna DiPallo converted a three-point play, while Sara Wolman got the jumper and Miriam Marcis made a hook shot from inside the lane to push the lead to 40-24.
Vaughan recorded the final two baskets of the first half for a 44-26 advantage, but it didn't take long to turn the 18-point lead into a 34-point advantage after intermission.
The Diplomats scored the first 12 points of the second half thanks to seven different players, not allowing Arcadia to get on the board until the 14:31 mark when Milligan hit a jumper. F&M took its largest lead late in the second half on a Faith Meisenberg jumper.
Alison Menna went 5-for-7 from the floor, scoring 10 points and Sarah Meisenberg tallied a career-high seven steals.
F&M returns to action on Saturday at Ursinus. Game time is 1 p.m.
