March 30, 2008

Box Score

READING, Pa. - F&M freshman hurler Mike Duranti picked up his second win in as many days as Franklin & Marshall handed Albright a 16-6 setback on Sunday. The victory was the fourth in as many games on the weekend for the Diplomats (8-9).

Duranti (3-0) worked the first five innings, striking out eight Lions' (7-10) batters while allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits. The reigning Centennial Pitcher of the Week earned the decision in a relief role during Saturday's 11-10 victory over Muhlenberg. Fellow freshman Nick Markel worked the final four frames on Sunday. He also allowed three runs with only two going into the books earned. Markel struck out five.

F&M posted seven runs in the second with Matt Will and Shea Moriarty each driving in a pair of runs. Moriarty went 3-for-5 scoring twice and knocking in five runs. 15 games into the season he is still hitting above .400. Will, who is also hitting above .400 with 12 games under his belt, went 2-for-5 scoring four times after picking up his pair of RBIs.

The Diplomats return to action on Tuesday at Haverford.
