#15 Johns Hopkins ended Franklin & Marshall's winning streak at eight games with the Jays (27-4, 15-1 CC) sweeping the Diplomats (17-12, 12-4 CC) 10-3 and 12-6 on Saturday. Hopkins pounded out 27 hits over the 16 innings of baseball, including four home runs, to keep its hold on first place in the Centennial after the battle of the league's only two teams to clinch playoff spots.
Brian Youchak hit two of those home runs to accompany his triple in the nightcap. He went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs and seven RBIs. Patrick O'Reilly hit a solo shot for F&M in the fourth inning. O'Reilly went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Shea Moriarty was the only other Diplomat to record multiple hits in game two. He was 2-for-4 crossing home once.
Five Jays recorded multiple hits in the opener. Matt Benchener went 3-for-4 with a double three RBIs and two runs scored. Todd Emr was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and as many runs scored. Jon Solomon hit a home run, while Youchak had three hits, scored twice and drove in a run.
O'Reilly went 3-for-4 in game one with an RBI. Rich Gallugi was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and a run driven in.
F&M returns to action tomorrow against Lebanon Valley. First pitch at Caplan Field is set for 1:00 p.m.
