CARLISLE, Pa - The Franklin & Marshall women's cross country
team took 11th out of 15 teams at the Dickinson
Long/Short Invitational on Saturday.
The Diplomats collected 163 points in the 4K race and 109 in the
6K race. Johns Hopkins won the invitational with a combined score
of 54 points to edge out Messiah in second and Dickinson in
third.
The long race featured the best time of the day in Rachel
Suydam, finishing 21st with a time of 24:14.16.
The second best finish went to Jenna Bush, coming in at
38th in 25:10.86, while Emily Kornfeld ran 25:46.32 for
52nd.
Freshman Grace Thompson competed in the long race and took
58th with a time of 26:04.15.
Emily Wilson, Elizabeth Albright and Hilary Flynn finished
seven spots between each other. Wilson took 66th in
26:47.59 and Albright came next with a time of 27:09.14 for
69th. Flynn ran 27:37.66 to finish in 73rd
and seventh on the team. The last runner for the Diplomats was
Margaret Capp, who finished the course in
28:47.96.
Megan Hunter led F&M in the short race, running 16:10.60 for
53rd overall. Competing in both races on the afternoon, Wilson
took second in the 4K with a time of 16:20.81 and 68th
place.
Amy Jordan came in 77th with a time of 16:29.59 and Kelly
Farrelly ran 16:38.09 for 81st overall. Coming
in fifth on the team was Amy Burke with a time of
16:44.70.
Kat Boardman and Melissa Zimmerman finished third and fourth on
the team with times of 17:57.56 and 18:02.85, respectively. Five
seconds behind Zimmerman was Emily Weir, clocking in 18:07.90.
Keira Rakoff and Samantha Schneider rounded out the Diplomats
final runners in the 4K race. Rakoff ran 18:29.41 and Schneider
completed the course in 19:05.22.
F&M returns to action on Oct. 3 at the Paul Short
Invitational at Lehigh, beginning at 1:45 p.m.
