17 points as third-seed Johns Hopkins defeated second-seed Franklin
& Marshall 75-58 in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference
(CC) Championship Tournament.
The Diplomats (14-12) came within two points with a jumper by

they would get. With the score 34-32 in favor of the Blue Jays
(14-12), John Hopkins went on a 16-point run. The Diplomats never
came closer than 14 points.
Burton had four points and two assists during the run and ended
the night shooting 50 percent from the floor with three assists.
Phillips scored eight straight points midway through the second
period, knocking down two treys and hitting a jumper from the
floor. She played 35 minutes and went 8-16 from the floor.
Hopkins had five players with double digit scoring. In addition to
Burton and Phillip, Caitlin Sloane added 12 points, Stephanie Fong

F&M started out with a four-point lead early, but Wynn's
jumper with 17:35 in the first put the Blue Jays up two and they
never trailed after that. The Diplomats did manage a six point run,
all scored by Sarah Meinenberg, midway thought the first to tie the
game at 19-19 with 5:20 left in the period.
Meinenberg led all scorers with 32 points going 9-18 from the
field and 12-13 from the charity stripe. She played all 40 minutes
of the game and added three steals and six rebounds. Meisenberg
reached a milestone with 1,529 career points ranking her No. 5 in
all-time scoring for the Diplomats. She finished her career as only
the fifth CC player to reach the 1,500-point, 500-rebound
plateau.
Johns Hopkins will face host Muhlenberg tomorrow at 2:00pm for the
Centennial Conference Championship. The Blue Jays have a chance to
make history with a victory, making it their fifth conference
