LANCASTER, Pa. –Kyle McGrath scored five goals to lead No. 2 Gettysburg past Franklin & Marshall in the Diplomats' season finale Saturday night. With the Centennial Conference (CC) win, the Bullets completed the season sweep of the league.

McGrath got the Bullets (14-1, 8-0 CC) rolling early on an unassisted extra-man goal at 13:01. Gettysburg extended the lead to 3-0 by the 14:12 mark of the second period. The Diplomats (5-8, 2-7 CC) finally got on the board 20:04 into the game when A.J. Recihart threw a crisp pass across the goal mouth for Kevin Kilpatrick to finish making it 3-1. 32 seconds later, Jame Wenk bolted out from behind the cage and fired a bullet that beat Gettysburg keeper John LeClerc to the top left corner, making it 3-2.

That was as close as F&M got the rest of the way.

Gettysburg answered with the next three, including McGrath's second, a hard blast inside of the left post that got by F&M's starting goalie, Chris Marcozzi. Josh Reichart made it a 6-2 game early in the third before the night's most artistic goal. F&M's Justin Rayman split a pair of defenders. As he was falling to the ground, he flipped a pass to Kilpatrick for an easy goal to make it 6-3.

Then McGrath took over.

The Bullets' senior completed his hat trick with a hard run from the left that ended with the ball in the top right corner of the Diplomats net late in the third. He added unassisted goals at the start and end of the fourth quarter to make it 8-3, and ultimately the 11-5 final.

Kilpatrick finished the night with a pair of goals and an assist on Sean Oliver's fourth quarter goal. Oliver and fellow senior Jake Gladstone each scored in the final game of their careers. Marcozzi, also playing his final game, saw Gettysburg fire 32 shots at the F&M cage. He turned away 10 and allowed as many in 53:49 of work. Several of his saves were brilliant, keeping F&M in the game during the early going. He yielded his net to classmate Danny Coffman for the remainder. Coffman stopped one shot and allowed one goal down the stretch. LeClerc made five saves for Gettysburg.

The Diplomats dominated the draws with Andrew Setian winning 16 of the night's 20 faceoffs. The teams were even in ground balls with 32 apiece. The Diplomats turned the ball over 22 times, 10 were forced, and failed on five clear attempts. Both teams scored once on the extra-man. There were only three penalties called in the contest.

The loss wraps up the season for F&M. Gettysburg will host next week's CC Championship tournament.
