LANCASTER, Pa. - Zach Zamek became
the all-time leader in shutouts in Franklin & Marshall's men's
soccer history with 19 as the Diplomats defeated Lycoming 3-0 on
Wednesday. Zamek surpasses Ed Stelz '06 and Eric Brief '82 on the
F&M career list.
Zamek had two saves for the night earning his 35th career win
and is now tied with Stelz on the all-time win's career list.
Zamek's next opportunity to break the career win record is on the
19th against Muhlenberg.
Five minutes into the game P.J. Succoso received a pass from
the left side of the field to put one on the board for the
Diplomats. F&M dominated the game from that point
forward.
Rob
Hassler took advantage of a free kick outside of the goal box
ripping one past the goalkeeper in the 72nd minute. F&M sealed
the game when Josh
Wirtshafter placed his corner kick inside the goal box for Preston
Kilgore to head it home.
The win lifts the Diplomats to 3-2 and seek their fourth win
against Muhlenberg on September 19, at 5 PM.
