Jays Turn Back Diplomats

Results

LANCASTER, Pa.—Johns Hopkins won 12 of 14 races on Saturday, as the Blue Jays defeated Franklin & Marshall 178-79 in men's swimming action Saturday at McGinness Pool.  The meet was the season opener for both teams.

The Diplomats received first-place points in the 200-yard individual medley, and 200-yard freestyle relay, where they swept the top three places.

David Fell collected the first first-place points of the season in the 200-yard individual medley, touching in a time of 2:04.69.  William Cappuccio finished second in 2:08.75, while Scott Rownd placed third in 2:10.77.

The only other Diplomat win came in the final event of the day, the 200-yard freestyle relay, where Zach Wilt, Patrick Musselman, Jin Hwang, and Dennis Chen finished first with a time of 1:31.02.

Other highlights for F&M include a second-place finish by Tim Landon in the 1000-yard freestyle, and a second-place finish by Dennis Chen in the 200-yard freestyle.

F&M returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 6, when the Diplomats head to Ewing, N.J. to take on The College of New Jersey at 1 p.m.
