LANCASTER, Pa. – No. 20 Gettysburg outscored their hosts 6-2 in the third quarter en route to a 16-12 win over Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday. The Diplomats (8-5, 3-4 CC) kept coming in the fourth quarter, but could not close the hole opened up by the Bullets (9-5, 5-2 CC) in the decisive run.

F&M's Kevin Kilpatrick knotted the game at 6-6 with 12:12 left in the third quarter, but Gettysburg ripped off the next four with Henry Tesar and Pat Sartory factoring in on the run. Sartory finished his day with four goals and an assist, while Tesar tallied a hat trick and assisted on another.  

The Diplomats' Tristan Miller answered with one of his four goals in the game, fed by one of Colin McKew's four assists, but Gettysburg scored a pair in the final 90 seconds of the quarter, including a behind the head shot with eight seconds left in the frame, making it 12-7. Sartory scored his final goal of the day 58 seconds into the fourth before the teams started trading goals.

The Diplomats outscored Gettysburg 5-4 in the fourth, but the damage had already been done. F&M got 15 points from its starting attack. Billy Kempner matched Miller's production of four goals and an assist. McKew had a goal to go with his four helpers.

Gettysburg outshot F&M 37-27 and nearly matched F&M in one of its strongest phases of the game, faceoffs. The Diplomats won 17 of the game's 32.  Cameron Setian turned away 10 shots in the game.  J.C. Ward scored a goal and assisted on four for Gettysburg.

The Diplomats wrap up the regular season on Saturday at Dickinson.
