F&M Battles Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's men's swimming team battled Ursinus in a narrow 109-96 defeat on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) action. The Diplomats' record dropped to 3-3, 2-2 CC, while the Bears improved to 6-3, 2-3 CC.

F&M fell behind early, dropping the first two events of the meet to Ursinus. However, the Diplomats came storming back with two-straight wins from Jake Reingold and John Zipp.

Reingold picked up a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.25, followed by Zipp in the 50-yard freestyle at 22.09.

The Bears regained the lead by winning the next two events before Zipp picked up his second individual win of the competition in the 100-yard freestyle with a time 48.13.

Teammate Jin Hwang finished close behind in second-place with a time 49.72.

Both squads traded victories throughout the remainder of the meet with the Diplomats earning two more wins on the day. Reingold picked up his second individual win in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:52.81.

In the final event, a team of Zach Wilt, Patrick Musselman, Reingold and Hwang won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:29.14, but were unable to close the gap on Ursinus.

F&M returns to the pool on Saturday to face off against Dickinson in CC-action. The meet is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
