Series History: The Diplomats seek their first series win since 2006 on Saturday, when F&M plays host to Swarthmore. The Diplomats trail the all-time series at 38-23-5 with the last matchup on Sept. 15 of last year resulting in a 2-1 Garnet victory.
Last Week: F&M did all it could to improve its Centennial Conference (CC) playoff positioning, taking a pair of conference wins that included a 3-2 defeat of Gettysburg on Wednesday followed by a 4-0 drubbing of Dickinson on Saturday.
Chase TenBrook netted two goals to lead the Diplomats past the Bullets. Taylor Skelly picked up his first win of the season for F&M with four saves, while Connor Darrell took the loss with two stops.
F&M outshot Gettysburg 11-6 and had a 5-0 advantage in corners.
Against the Red Devils, a goal and an assist from TenBrook and a pair of tallies from Ben Beaver paced the Diplomats' offense.
Skelly (2-0) got the start in net and made the most of it, picking up the shutout victory with five saves through 90 minutes. Reed Milbrath (7-2) was charged with the loss after giving up four goals on seven shots.
Dickinson had the edge on shots at 9-8, however F&M held the 6-4 advantage in the second half. The Diplomats led on corners at 2-1, all of which occurred in the first.

Fighting for a Spot: With just one CC contest remaining in the season, F&M stands on the cusp of the fifth and final CC playoff spot and can clinch a place in the tournament with a win on Saturday. The Diplomats' record of 4-3-1 in the conference places them in a three-way tie for third with Dickinson and Johns Hopkins. Muhlenberg, Ursinus and Gettysburg are currently on the outside looking in, all tied for sixth with an identical 3-4-1 record.
Among the Elite: As a team, the Diplomats rank eighth in the nation in shutout percentage (0.63) and 23rd in goals against average (0.60), while goalkeeper T. J. White ranks 18th in goals against average with 0.551.
Record Book Watch: Beaver's two-goal performance against Dickinson on Saturday now gives the senior forward 43 for his career, placing him just one shy of tying Scott Runyon's school mark of 44.
In the Rankings: F&M climbed back into the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Rankings this week, reaching No. 21 in the poll.
