Series History: F&M takes on Swarthmore this Saturday in its first Centennial Conference (CC) Semifinal contest since 2010. The Garnet (No. 2 seed) lead the all-time series at 38-24-5, however the Diplomats (No. 3 seed) picked up a playoff-clinching 2-1 thriller over Swarthmore on Saturday at Tylus Field.
Last Week: Ben Beaver's record-tying goal off a penalty shot with just two minutes remaining in regulation gave the No. 21 Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team a 2-1 victory over Swarthmore on Saturday evening, and propelled the Diplomats into the CC playoffs.
Tied at 1-1 with only 2:20 remaining on the clock, a Swarthmore foul in the box gave Beaver an opportunity to make history. The senior forward rose to the occasion, opting for the left side of the net and slipping a shot past a diving Swarthmore goalkeeper for the go-ahead goal.

CC Tournament History: F&M has reached the CC playoffs six times in the history of the tournament, with its last appearance occurring in 2010 with a 4-0 loss to Muhlenberg in the semifinals. The Diplomats seek their first-ever CC Championship, having appeared in the final game twice, with the last coming in a 2-1 overtime defeat against Johns Hopkins in 2006.
F&M and Swarthmore faced off only once before in the tournament's history, when the Diplomats downed the Garnet 1-0 in the 2006 CC Semifinals. Overall, F&M holds a 2-1 record in the semifinals.
