SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The women of the Franklin & Marshall swimming team were back in the pool for the first time in more than a month on Saturday afternoon, tying Susquehanna 131-131. With the tie, the Diplomats are now 3-1-1 on the season.

Breann Cavanagh was the first F&M swimmer to claim victory, winning the 1000-yard freestyle in 11:18.10. The sophomore followed that performance in the 200-yard freestyle, taking second place with a time of 2:02.32, while teammate Grace Pereles took first, clocking a time of 2:01.46.

The same combination struck again in the 500-yard freestyle, as Pereles took first at 5:21.20, followed by Cavanagh in second at 5:30.01. Pereles gave another strong performance in the 200-yard butterfly, swimming a time of 2:16.72 to finish second.

Melissa Mullin recorded her own trio of high finishes, winning the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke with times of 1:10.68 and 2:32.94, respectively. She finished her day in the 200-yard IM, taking second after finishing at 2:18.94.

Anna Hess also earned a pair of wins, taking home the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.38 before winning the 200-yard backstroke in 2:16.00. In the 200-yard edition, a second-place finish from Courtney Collins (2:17.13) and a third from Taylor Mateja (2:20.44) gave the Diplomats all three top spots in the event.

Jillian Albus twice finished as runner-up, finishing second in a pair of sprint freestyle events. The junior finished the 50-yard freestyle in 25.88 to take silver, before clocking a time of 57.16 to again take second in the 100-yard freestyle.

F&M returns to Centennial Conference competition on Friday, visiting McDaniel for a 6:00 p.m. matchup.
