Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall jumped out to an early 4-0 lead midway through the first quarter and never looked back en route to a 17-6 victory over Albright Wednesday afternoon. F&M improved to 3-2 while the Lions dropped to 1-3.
Anthony Dougherty found Wes Rhudy on the opening possession just 13 seconds into the game to set the early tone. Albright finally got on the board at 5:21 in the first and the Diplomats answered with three straight and took a 7-1 lead into the second.
Albright made it 7-2 at 9:03 in the second before the Diplomats netted three straight and took a 10-2 lead into the break. F&M went up 11-2 early in the third and after a score by Albright 30 seconds later, the Diplomats netted six unanswered for a 17-3 lead with 12 minutes left in the game. The Lions tallied three in fourth with most of F&M's starters on the bench.
Teddy Bossidy led the offense with three goals and one assist while Mike Wasik also finished with a hat trick with three scores. Sean Rogers tallied two goals and two assists, Harry Rice had two scores with one helper and Rhudy ended the game with two tallies and an assist. Mike Rama, Michael Bossidy, Riley Aviles, Jack Gladstone and John Sommi all scored once.
Read Ziegler, Brendan Kenavan and Dougherty all handed out an assist.
Dougherty continued to dominate on defense with four caused turnovers and four ground balls. Christopher Casey had two caused turnovers and Tommy O'Connor finished with four ground balls.
Mike Sanzone was 5-for-6 from the X and A.J. Koikoi picked up two faceoff wins.
Thomas Moore earned the win with 10 saves and improved to 3-2 while Ryan Aler took the loss with just three stops.
F&M outshot Albright 48-36, forced 16 turnovers, and went 16-for-19 in clear attempts.
The Diplomats return to action on Saturday when F&M hosts Kenyon at 2:00 p.m.
