LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall men's swimming opened 2017 in style on Sunday afternoon, defeating Susquehanna 174-88 in nonconference competition. The win moved the Diplomats to 2-3 on the season.

Top Finishers

-Eric Lang earned his first individual victory of the day in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 59.86. He was followed by Ryan Caffrey in second (1:02.59) and Matthew Pozmanter in third (1:05.37) as the Diplomats swept the top three places.

-Lang earned his second victory of the day in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing in 2:15.78.

-His third individual victory came in the 200 IM as F&M recorded another sweep. Lang took first in 2:02.16, with Jack Currie in second at 2:05.94 and Jonathon Sinton took third in 2:08.85.

-Timothy Gould tallied two individual victories as well, beginning in the 100-yard backstroke with a mark of 54.65. He was followed by Currie in third at 56.67.

-In the 200-yard backstroke, Gould took first in 2:00.55 and Currie earned second in 2:03.42.

-Eric Dietrich-Peterson took a pair of firsts, finishing the 100-yard freestyle in 48.52.

-In the 200-yard butterfly his time of 2:00.92 was good for first as Cody Kalinowski took third in 2:04.81.

-Daniel Sanders was the fifth Diplomat to earn multiple wins, finishing the 50-yard freestyle in 21.99, followed by Keith Kamons (third, 22.73) and Matthew Murphy (fourth, 23.15).

-The 100-yard butterfly saw Sanders lead a sweep with a time of 54.06, with Kalinowski taking second (54.70) and Sinton in third (55.76).

-Sinton added to his strong day in the 1,000-yard freestyle, taking second in 10:25.22.

-Richard Perry grabbed two second-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.73) and 500-yard freestyle (4:58.76).
