Playoff Outlook
No. 6 Franklin & Marshall (12-2, 5-1 Centennial Conference) heads into the second-to-last week of the regular season in the drivers' seat to host the Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed. With just two games remaining, the Diplomats control their destiny as Johns Hopkins (4-1-1), and Gettysburg (4-1-1) are close behind.
F&M's 15 points have already clinched one of the five Tournament seeds that are up for grabs.
Series History
In the last 15 games against Washington College, the Diplomats hold a staggering 12-0-3 advantage as the Shoremen haven't upended F&M since 2002. Last season, the Diplomats rolled to a 4-0 win at home thanks to two goals from Jack Brandt, and zero shots allowed on goal.
Last Week
An 11-match winning streak came a close on Saturday with a tough 1-0 loss to No. 16 Johns Hopkins on Tylus Field. The Diplomats were dominant in the second half, leading in shots by a 13-4 margin and corners at 4-2. Recap.
Among the Leaders
A.J. Kopacz is sixth among CC leaders with seven goals on the season, while his 16 points rank eighth, just ahead of teammate Alex Lalovic in ninth with 15.
Goalkeeper Christopher Amoruso is second among all Centennial goalkeepers with a 0.64 goals-against average while his four shutouts are tied for first.
As a team, the Diplomats' 0.70 GAA tops the Centennial while their 16.8 shots per game are tied with Gettysburg for first.
Record Book Watch
Connor Whitacre and A.J. Kopacz are tied for seventh in program history in career game-winning goals with five. Ben Beaver '14 tops the list with 20 in his career.
Goalkeeper Christopher Amoruso broke the top-10 for career shutouts and now places sixth with 14. Zach Zamek '10 holds the record with 25. He has accumulated 28 wins in his career as well, a mark which places sixth. Zamek also holds that record with 41.
Amoruso's 12 wins in net this season already place sixth in single-season history. Trevor Britton '16 is the record holder with a 17-4 mark in 2015.
In the Polls
F&M fell three spots to No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 National Poll. Johns Hopkins is the Centennial's only additional representative at No. 5. Amherst tops the list at No. 1. The Diplomats slipped to No. 2 in the Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings, with Johns Hopkins taking over the top spot. Messiah is third, followed by Catholic (No. 4) and Haverford (No. 5). Complete poll.

A Flair for the Dramatic
F&M has risen to the occasion in extra minutes this season and is a perfect 3-0 in overtime contests.
Strength in Numbers
The Diplomats have proven to have one of the deepest benches in Division III as 18 players have made at least one start, 25 players have appeared in five or more games, and 11 Diplomats have notched at least one goal on the year.
Reaching a Milestone
With a 1-0 shutout of Scranton on Saturday, Sept. 14th, head coach Dan Wagner reached the 200-win milestone for his career.
Wagner became the program's all-time wins leader in 2012 and is one of only five coaches in the history of the CC to reach the milestone, with the leader being Johns Hopkins' Matt Smith with 240.
A Record Streak
F&M's six-consecutive NCAA Tournament bids are a record streak unmatched in the history of the Centennial Conference (CC). The Diplomats hold an 11-6 playoff record during that time span, including a 7-1 record in Lancaster.
