BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Emmett LiCastri led Franklin & Marshall's wrestling team to a third-place finish in the season-opening Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open, hosted by Binghamton on Sunday.
LiCastri cruised to a 5-1 record on the day that included a tech. fall and a first-period pin at 1:45 in the third-place title match against Cornell's Jakob Brindley.
125 Pounds
After dropping his opening match, Jose Diaz rebounded with two straight wrestle back wins including a first-period fall against teammate Jack Bruce.
Bruce won his opening match with an 11-9 decision over Binghamton's Tommaso Frezza and finished with a 1-2 mark in his career-opening tournament.
133 Pounds
Mike Simonetti won a 4-3 decision in the wrestle backs over the Bearcats' Alfonso DeRosa before seeing his day come to a close in the next round.

Brett Kulp advanced to the quarterfinals with a dominant 11-2 major but came up short in his next matchup with a 4-2 decision loss. He also earned a wrestle back win on the day and wrapped up his tournament at 2-2.
Sean Coakley picked up. Commanding 17-0 tech fall victory in his first match of the day before dropping down to the consolation bracket. He responded with another dominant effort, earning a high-scoring 22-12 major.
Following an opening-round loss, Wil Gil came back with a 16-1 tech. fall and a second-period pin to secure an eventual 2-2 record on the day.

Noah Chan was victorious in his first matchup by claiming an 11-6 decision to advance into the quarterfinals before dropping his next two.
Cristiaan Dailey registered a consolation win off a 6-2 decision over Binghamton's Dylan Wood.
