LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's swimming team dominated its home tri-meet on Saturday as the Diplomats defeated both York (W, 218.5-43.5) and Mary Washington (W, 211-51) to move to a perfect 6-0 on the year. The Diplomats have now won 20 consecutive duals overall as they have not been defeated since January 13, 2018. Franklin & Marshall had the top finisher in all 14 events contested on the men's side between the individual and relay events.
Cameron Mehta won two individual events and two relays, capturing the 100 and 200 yard Breastroke in addition to being on two winning relay teams. Jason Creed and Tom Graminski were also double winners for the Diplomats. Creed won his first two career races, finishing first in the 500 and 1,000 yard Freestyle events. Graminski swept the 100 and 200 yard Freestyle events.
Graminski certainly had tough competition in the field as both he and Alec Wahl posted top 50 times in Division III this season during the 100 yard race. Christopher Schiavone was a member of both winning relays in addition to his individual win during the 50 yard Freestyle Brendan Cline won the 100 yard Butterfly in addition to being a part of two winning relays.
Willem Stoll also posted a top 50 time nationally in the 200 yard Butterfly, while Alec Wahl and Evan Willertz won their respective backstroke races. Wahl was additionally on the 200 yard Medley Relay that was a photo finish between the F&M "A" and "B" teams. That relay ended in a tie between the Diplomats' top teams as they finished with identical times at the final touch.
To back up their first place finishes during each of the events, the Diplomats also had the runner-up in nine of the 14 races on the men's side.
Men's swimming will look to keep its winning ways rolling next Saturday as the Diplomats return to the Kunkel Aquatic Center for a 3 p.m. Centennial Conference regular season matchup with Dickinson.
