Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 17 Franklin & Marshall's men's lacrosse team remained undefeated on the season with a resounding 26-3 win against visiting McDaniel. Twelve different players scored for the Diplomats (3-0, 2-0 CC) as they raced out to an 18-0 lead before the Green Terror (0-3, 0-3 CC) found their first goal of the afternoon.
Four different F&M players finished with hat tricks. Reigning CC Offensive Player of the Week Luke Keating led the team with five goals and four assists. Christian Sullivan added four goals and three assists while Blake Target added four more goals and one assist. Colin Hueston added yet another hat trick for the home standing Diplomats. Will Mulligan (1 goal, 3 assists), Eddy Madden (4 assists), and Will Mollihan (2 goals, 2 assists) were also key pieces in F&M's attacking success.
Franklin & Marshall racked up a commanding 54-18 advantage in shots. Eric Mueller played the first 30 minutes in goal, stopping four of the five shots on target that he faced. Luke Mutterer (4 saves) and Lachlan Barber (1 save) did not concede a goal during their time in the crease while George Rioseco made one additional save.
The Diplomats dominated the face-off X as Jack Beatty went 15-for-20 on the restarts. Connor Helm (7-for-9) and Matthew Freeman (3-for-4) also played huge roles in the team winning 25 of the 33 face-offs. Beatty's prowess at the X helped him secure a team-leading nine ground balls. Erich Della Volpe forced multiple giveaways on the afternoon as he was one of 10 Diplomats who finished with a caused turnover.
After today's results around the Centennial Conference, Franklin & Marshall is now tied with Gettysburg for first place in the conference standings as both teams are 2-0 in league play. The Diplomats will be back on the road next Saturday as they travel to Washington College for a 3 p.m. face-off with the Shoremen.
