GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team placed 10th at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday. The Diplomats scored 261 points as a team in what was the Diplomats' final race before the Centennial Conference Championships in two weeks.
Emma Kline continued to pace the Diplomats as she finished 14th out of 173 runners with a time of 23:39.9. The next three runners to the finish ran as a strong team, with Alysse Danyi (25:20.5), Kate Henderson (25:26.5), and Valerie Fieberg (25:30.3) claiming the 59th, 62th, and 65th spots in the individual standings. Fieberg's time marked a personal best for the junior.
Three first-years, Lucy Olsen (26:18.4), Annalise Kauffman (26:29.8), and Abby Bachman (26:45.0) rounded out the team's top seven as they all cracked the top 100 finishers. Julianne Cadden also competed on the 6,000 meter course, finishing in a time of 27:27.4.
Women's cross country will now have two weeks to get in final preparations for the Centennial Conference Championships which will be hosted by Haverford this year. The women's 6K race on Saturday, October 29 will start the championship meet at 11 a.m., with the men to follow at 12 p.m.
