HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team took sixth place at the 2022 Centennial Conference Championships on Saturday morning. The Diplomats scored 211 points as a team, matching last year's team finish with several F&M runners making their championship debut at the meet.

Competing in the always-challenging meet, six regionally-ranked squads came into the championship and the Diplomats were able to best one of those teams (Haverford, No. 10 Metro) during a strong day on the course.

Senior Emma Kline once again led the Diplomats to the finish line as she finished in a career-best 33rd place at the conference championship, crossing the line with a time of 24:18.2. She was one of three Diplomats to finish in the top 50 as Valerie Fieberg (25:17.3) and Kate Henderson (25:17.9) placed 47th and 49th, respectively. Fieberg's time was a new personal best in her CC Championship debut, while Henderson also recorded a career best individual finish.

First-year Annalise Kauffman just missed a top 50 finish during her conference championship debut. Kauffman crossed the line in 25:27.2 and was joined by senior Alysse Danyi as the scoring Diplomats. Danyi placed 64th, crossing the line at 25:5.9. The team's sixth and seventh finishers were not far behind with first-years Abby Bachman (25:56.8) and Lucy Olsen (26:12.4) very quickly following the tightly-grouped pack. Another F&M runner making her cross country championship debut was junior Julianne Cadden who finished in 26:54.9.

Women's cross country will return to action in two weeks at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional that will be held at the West Branch Cross Country Course in Lock Haven, Pa. NCAA bids will be on the line when those teams line up for the regional championship which gets underway at 11 a.m.
