11/7/2023 12:49:00 PM

LANCASTER, Pa. - Following an 11-8 finish to the season, the Franklin & Marshall Field Hockey team saw four different players earn all-conference selections.

The Diplomats were led by first-year Meghan Dole, who earned first-team All-Centennial Conference honors, along with the Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year award. Making her first career start on Sunday, September 3, Dole finished the season with 95 saves, six shutouts, a 0.812 save percentage and a 1.24 GAA, ranking top-three in each of those categories in the conference.

Between September 20 to October 7, the Wayne native helped keep five opponents scoreless while allowing just one goal and recording 11 saves. On the road against Ursinus, Dole made 15 saves across 80 minutes, before stopping two penalty shootout attempts to lead F&M to a 2-1 win. She would later be named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week and NFHCA division III Defensive Player of the Week. Dole is now the second consecutive player to win rookie of the year, following Kat Thistlewaite in 2022.

Darby Klopp joined Dole as a first-team selection, marking the third time in her career being named to an all-conference team. On the season, Klopp tallied a pair of goals and seven assists for 11 points in total. Against McDaniel, Klopp provided a career-high three assists in a 5-0 win over the Green Terror.

Rounding out the first-team honors was Carolina Riley, who earned a second straight first-team selection. Playing a significant role on the defensive line for F&M, Riley helped limit 10 opponents to under double-digit shots, and 11 opponents to less than six shots on goal. The Diplomats also allowed the third fewest goals in the conference with the help of Riley, behind Johns Hopkins and Bryn Mawr.

Following up on her impressive first year, Thistlewaite was selected to the second-team all-conference. An honorable all-conference selection last season, the New Hope native was also a part of the defensive line that held opposing teams to 1.21 goals per game. On October 3, she was named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week following a pair of shutouts.

For the first time in her career, Faith DiMantova was named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship team, adding on to her two academic honor roll selections.
