LANCASTER, Pa.- The No. 11 Franklin & Marshall field hockey team (9-3, 3-2 Centennial Conference) returned to winning form with a controlled 2-0 victory over visiting Muhlenberg (4-9, 1-4 Centennial Conference) on Wednesday evening.
Molly Donadoni scored the game-winning goal for the Diplomats, while
Megan Dadio recorded one goal and one assist. The F&M defense allowed just four total shots and zero shots on goal to give
Meghan Dole her sixth shutout of 2026. Across the hour of play, F&M maintained a 44-4 shot advantage and a 23-0 advantage in shots on goal. 44 shots is the fifth-most in a single game in program history.
Caitlin Hoover led the team with 12 shots and seven shots on goal.
The Diplomats pressed for an opening goal in the first quarter, totaling 13 shots and six penalty corners. Hoover forced three stops in the opening 15 minutes.
F&M was kept quieter early on in the second period, generating four shots through the opening seven minutes. The Diplomats found the opening goal in the 23rd minute from a penalty corner.
Maya Rorick started the sequence, passing the ball across the circle to Hoover who found Dadio unmarked at the post following her penalty corner injection. Her attempt on goal was denied, but she earned possession of the rebound and lofted the ball over the goalkeeper to unmarked Donadoni for a straight-forward finish from a couple of yards away.
The Diplomats totaled a game-best 14 goals and eight penalty corners in the third quarter and found an insurance goal from Dadio three minutes into the period. The goal came from a similar penalty-corner set piece to the first goal, as Rorick fed a ball back to Hoover. This time, Hoover fired at goal, and her saved shot fell to an unmarked Dadio at the near post. She collected the ball and put it over the closing goalkeeper and a defender. F&M totaled 19 shots in the remaining 17 minutes of play but was unable to add to the lead.
The Diplomats stay at Tylus Field to host Washington College on Saturday, October 17, at 12 p.m.
