SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's swimming team took part in the Swarthmore Invitational this weekend, giving members of the team another competition before the Centennial Conference Championships in just under two weeks.
Ruhbani Sidhu was a part of three event wins to highlight the Diplomats' success as she took first in both the 200 Freestyle (2:04.94) and 200 Individual Medley (2:27.97). She added to her weekend haul of accolades in the 200 Mixed Medley relay when she swam the second leg of that intrasquad matchup which Claire McQuade anchored and additionally featured Jarrett Driever and Dylan Merritt from the men's team.
The Diplomats had a number of strong performances across multiple events. Stephanie Dolan took second in the 200 Freestyle (2:05.97) and third in the 50 Freestyle (25.80). The 50 Freestyle was an overall strong performance from the team as F&M added a second place finish from Sidhu (25.76) and fourth place time from Katarina Dominguez (26.29). Dominguez was also runner up in the 100 Backstroke (1:05.40) throughout the multi-day event. Riley Reader had a number of strong swims, taking fourth in the 200 IM (2:24.64), 100 Breaststroke (1:13.41), and 200 Breaststroke (2:34.93).
Franklin & Marshall will now spend the coming week and a half training and preparing for the 2023 Centennial Conference Championships. The conference championship, which will be hosted by Gettysburg, begins on Thursday, February 16 and continues through Sunday, February 19.
