Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (8-13, 5-11 CC) was defeated in its Centennial Conference game against Johns Hopkins (17-4, 14-2 CC), 64-48, Tuesday evening inside the Mayser Center. Stretches of cold-shooting plagued the Diplomats as they struggled scoring in the first and third quarters.
Trailing 18-7 to start the second quarter, F&M scored eight unanswered points to cut the deficit to three. Lizzie Neville made a layup, followed by Jaclyn Feit knocking down a pair of free throws to make the score 18-11 one minute into the frame. Ally Trebelev and Neville each connected from mid-range on consecutive possessions to cut JHU's lead to 18-15.
The Blue Jays put a stop to their scoreless stretch with a jumper, but Trebelev quickly responded by splashing a three-pointer on the other end to get F&M within two points with seven minutes until halftime.
20-18 was the closest F&M came to tying the game as Johns Hopkins outscored the Diplomats 15-5 to close the half.
Franklin & Marshall came out in the second half struggling to make baskets, as it shot just 1-for-13 on field goals and was outscored 14-7 in the third quarter.
Neville led the Diplomats in scoring with 15 points, while also nabbing five steals. Feit racked up 12 points with eight rebounds and five blocks in the contest. Trebelev ended the game one rebound short of a double-double as she recorded 10 points and nine boards.
Franklin & Marshall now prepares to host Washington College inside the Mayser Center Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
