LANCASTER, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall women's swimming team opened the Franklin & Marshall Invitational with four top-ten finishes and the fifth most points of the 13 schools entered.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Madi Bickford, Rachel Baker, Matti Harvey, and Sophie Moyer claimed fourth place in 1:37.38, marking F&M's third-best time in the event in program history.
The 400 medley relay team of Sophie Bergstrom, Catherine Crampton, Caitlin Barr, and Bickford claimed eighth place in 3:58.03 to mark F&M's fifth-best time in the event.
Bickford continued a strong individual campaign with a seventh-place finish. With a time of 24.13, she already moves to second in program history and 0.07 seconds off Julie McFadden's program-record time. Matti Harvey's time of 24.53 moved her to eighth in program history.
Catherine Crampton finished third in the 200 IM, finishing 1.36 seconds off her program record time.
The Diplomats return to the Kunkel Aquatics Center on Saturday for preliminaries at 10:00 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m. Events on the schedule include the 200 medley relay, 800 freestyle relay, 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, and 100 backstroke.
