Men's Swimming Wins Every Event in Dual Meet Against McDaniel

LANCASTER, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall men's swimming team (5-2, 3-2 Centennial) earned all 14 event wins in a dual meet victory over McDaniel (3-6, 0-5 Centennial Conference) 205-44 on Friday night.

F&M took the top three spots in both the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay events. Sam Kamdin, Jarrett Driever, Evan Willertz, and Thomas Smolinski won the 200 medley, while Smolinski, Kamdin, Tim Turnbull, and John Devaney earned a 200 freestyle win. 

Kamdin won both of his individual events including the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. 

Patrick Rooney earned a pair of event wins in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM. In the 100 breaststroke, Luke Healey claimed second and Riley Williams completed a top-three sweep.

Ben Lockey also earned two event wins, winning the 200 freestyle and 100 IM. Rooney completed a sweep of the top four spots in the 200 freestyle, and he was followed by Nick Lowell, Jarrett Driever, and Turnbull

Turnbull led the way in the 50 butterfly, and his time of 23.65 moves him up one spot to sixth in program history in the event. F&M swept the top four spots in the event, as Drexler was second, Henry Tavens claimed third, and Driever finished in fourth.

Drexler won the 50 breaststroke followed by Devaney in second and Brady Saunders in third, while Smolinski won the 50 backstroke with Williams in second and Ryan Kornacki in third. 

Willertz earned a win in the 100 freestyle, Kyle Samson won the the 100 butterfly. 

Lowell led the way in the 100 backstroke, with Matthew Tilghman and Samson completing a top-three sweep. 

The Diplomats return from the winter break with a non-conference trip to The College of New Jersey on Friday, January 10, at 5:00 p.m.
