NEW YORK, N.Y. – Five members of the Franklin & Marshall men's squash team began competition at the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships on Saturday.
Alexander Arader – Molloy Cup – West
Arader fell in his opening match of the day, 3-0, against Harvard's Segev Rome to drop to the Molloy West Consolation bracket. From there, Arader bounced back with a 3-1 victory over Cornell's Tanay Punjabi Saturday evening. Tied at 1-1, the first-year won the next two games, 11-8, 12-10, to earn his sixth victory of the season. Arader now faces Denison's Juan Felipe Hernandez in the Molly West Consolation Final on Sunday at 12:20 p.m.
Kyle Broadhurst – Molloy Cup – South
Broadhurst rolled to a 3-0 win over Dickinson's Omar Ali in Saturday afternoon's Quarterfinal match. Broadhurst won, 11-5, 11-5, 11-7, to tally his seventh victory of the year. With the win, Broadhurst advances to the Molly South Semifinals, where he will face Western's Daniel Deverill on Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
Marco DiFilippo – Molloy Cup – East
DiFilippo was defeated in his first match of the day, 3-0, to Trinity's Huzaifa Ibrahim to fall to the consolation bracket. The senior responded with a big 3-0 sweep over Bates' Alec H. Spiro, 11-5, 11-1, 11-6, to earn his fifth individual win of the year. DiFilippo now advances to the Molloy East Consolation Final on Sunday, where he will face Harvard's Conner Stoltz at 12:20 p.m.
Sharan Punjabi – Molloy Cup – North
Punjabi outlasted Virginia's Nathan Rosenzweig, 3-2, in the Molloy North Quarterfinals to pick up his eighth win of the winter. Down 2-1, Punjabi won the next two games, 11-3, 11-4, to earn the victory. Punjabi now moves into the Molloy North Semifinals, where he will face Trinity's Ahmed Ismail on Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
Jordan Sprecher – Molloy Cup – South
Sprecher fell in both of his matches on Saturday with a 3-1 defeat in the Molly South Quarterfinals to Rochester's Omar Zakaria. Sprecher battled Columbia's Imad H. Athar to five games in the consolation match. However, Athar claimed the fifth game, 11-4, to win the match.
