LANCASTER, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall men's swimming team (2-3, 2-2 Centennial Conference) dropped Saturday's non-conference dual meet to Mary Washington (2-1), 158-104.

F&M totaled four event wins and 18 total top-three results, sweeping the meet's two relays, the 400 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay.

Sam Kamdin, Patrick Rooney, Riley Williams, Ben Lockey opened the day by winning the 400 medley relay followed by the B lineup of Nick Lowell, Luke Healey, Ethan Ferris, and Brady Saunders that claimed second place. Kamdin, Thomas Smolinski, Brady Saunders, and Lockey concluded the meet by finishing first in the 400 freestyle relay. 

Individually, Kamdin and Rooney each won an event. Kamdin won his third-straight 100 backstroke to begin the dual meet season, while Rooney won the 100 breaststroke. He also claimed second in the 200 breaststroke.

Lowell totaled the most top-three finishes for F&M in individual events, claiming third place in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, and 200 IM. 

In the 50 freestyle, Saunders and Smolinski claimed second and third, respectively, while Lockey was third in the 100 freestyle. In distance freestyle, Matthew Tilghman earned second place followed by Edward Vonne in third.

Ferris was second in both the 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly, while Williams was one spot behind in the 100 butterfly in third place.

The Diplomats return for the Franklin & Marshall Invitational from Friday, November 21, through Sunday, November 23.
