LANCASTER, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall men's swimming team (5-5, 3-3 Centennial) earned two event wins and 12 top-three finishes in their 187-75 loss to defending Centennial Conference Champions Swarthmore (6-3, 5-1 Centennial) at the Kunkel Aquatic Center on Saturday.
Prior to the meet, Luke Circus, Jason Creed, John Devaney, Jarrett Driever, Kyle Samson, Henry Tavens, Tim Turnbull, and Evan Willertz were recognized as part of Senior Day festivities.
Ben Lockey, Tavens, Sam Kamdin, and Devaney concluded the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay, winning the event in 3:09.55. Kamdin, Patrick Rooney, Willertz, and Devaney placed third in the 200 medley relay.
Devaney earned the other win for the Diplomats in the 100 freestyle, finishing the event in 47.41.
Kamdin earned a pair of top three finishes, placing in second place in both the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Lockey's personal best time of 54.85 earned him second place in the event, while he moved from seventh to fifth in the Franklin & Marshall performance list for the event.Â
Turnbull also moved ahead in the program record book with his second-place showing in the 50 butterfly. With a time of 23.24, he went from sixth to fourth in program history.Â
Rooney earned third place in the 50 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke.
Two Diplomats placed in the top three in the 200 freestyle, as Tavens earned second and Matthew Tilghman placed in third.
Willertz also earned second place in the 100 butterfly.
The Diplomats finalize Centennial Conference Championship preparations as they host the Franklin & Marshall Spring Invitational on Friday, February 7, and Saturday, February 8.
