LANCASTER, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall men's swimming team kicked off the Centennial Conference Swimming Championship with the 200 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay in the first session of the weekend, finishing the night in third place in the points standings. The session was highlighted by the Diplomat's "A" team claiming third place in the 800 freestyle relay.
Sam Kamdin, John Devaney, Henry Tavens, and Evan Willertz claimed third place in the championship final with a time of 6:46.93. The Diplomat's "B" team was third in the consolation final, as Matthew Tilghman, Ben Lockey, Joe Clarkson, and Kyle Samson finished in 7:05.46.Â
Nick Lowell, Patrick Rooney, Willertz, and Thomas Smolinski claimed fifth place in the championship final of the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:32.84, while Riley Williams, Ben Lockey, Tim Turnbull, nd Brady Saunders were third in the consolation final with a time of 1:33.98.
F&M returns to the Kunkel Aquatic Center for the second day tomorrow with sessions at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Tomorrow's events include the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 freestyle, and 400 medley relay.
