LANCASTER, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall women's swimming team competed in the second finals session of the Centennial Conference Swimming Championship on Friday, racing in the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 freestyle, and 400 medley relay. The Diplomats' "A" team earned third place in the 400 medley relay, while F&M placed one individual in a championship final and seven in consolation finals.

Sophie Bergstrom, Catherine Crampton, Sophie Moyer, and Matti Harvey were third in the 400 medley relay championship final with a time of 3:54.36, while Rachel Baker, Samantha Taylor, Caitlin Barr, and Madi Bickford were third in the consolation final, finishing in 4:01.53.

Harvey claimed eighth place in the championship final of the 50 freestyle, and she moved up the program record book in the process. While she finished the final in 24.29, her time of 24.17 in prelims is the program's third-best time in the event.

Bickford was third in the 50 freestyle consolation final with a time of 24.36, while Baker earned fifth place with a time of 24.45. She posted a 25.34 in the 50 preliminary to move from tenth to seventh in the program's performance list. Moyer was sixth in the consolation final, finishing in 24.63.

Crampton won the 200 IM consolation final with a time of 2:08.20.

Georgia May earned third place in the 500 freestyle consolation final with a time of 5:13.14, while Ava Tseng's first 500 freestyle final saw her finish sixth in the consolation final in 14th. 

The Diplomats hold firm in third place through the first two days with 173 points.

F&M returns for the third day of the Centennial Conference Swimming Championship on Saturday with preliminaries at 10:00 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m. Tomorrow's events include the 200 freestyle relay, 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, and 100 backstroke.
