Bergstorm, Crampton, 200 Medley Team Move Up Record Book at F&M Spring Invite

LANCASTER, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall women's swimming team (5-5, 5-2 Centennial)  competed in their final event ahead of Centennial Conference Championships, as they hosted the Franklin & Marshall Spring Invitational on Saturday. The Diplomats set several times that made their way onto the program's top-ten performance list. 

The invite, which also featured Gettysburg, included time trials in preparation for conference championships in two weeks' time.

The team of Sophie Bergstrom, Catherine Crampton, Caitlin Barr, and Rachel Baker logged the program's fourth-best time in the 200 medley relay, finishing the event in 1:47.73. It's a 1.20 second improvement on the team's best time this year.

Bergstrom went on to move up the record book in two individual categories. She now holds the program's third-best 50 backstroke split, finishing her portion of the 200 medley relay in 27.16. Her previous best time was 27.29. In the 200 backstroke, she stays fifth in program history but improves her personal best to 2:07.60 from 2:08.71. 

Catherine Crampton's 29.94 50 breaststroke split in the 200 medley relay gives her the program's second-best time, improving on her previous-best time of 30.86. She jumps into the top ten in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:55.97, moving to ninth on the performance list. 

The team of Madi Bickford, Matti Harvey, Sophie Moyer, and Erin Suter logged a 200 freestyle relay time of 1:38.75.

The Diplomats next compete in the Centennial Conference Championships from Thursday, February 20, through Sunday, February 23.
