LANCASTER, Pa. – Lauren Dunnigan won both the 60 meter dash (7.77) and 60 meter hurdles (8.84) with school record times lead the Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team to a sixth-place finish at the Centennial Conference Indoor Championships. Dunnigan later added to her accolades when she was selected as the outstanding track performer of the meet based on a vote of the conference's head coaches.
Dunnigan is the first Diplomat to be named the Centennial Conference's Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet since Sheena Crawley won the 800 meters and the mile during the 2012 championship. Crawley was recently honored as an inductee to F&M's most recent Hall of Fame class for the entire athletic department. Adding to her impressive list of feats that she accomplished on Sunday, Dunnigan is additionally the first-ever Diplomat to win the 60 meter dash and the 60 meter hurdles at the Centennial Conference Championships. Following Sunday's championship meet, Dunnigan now ranks 22nd in all of Division III in the 60 meter hurdles.
On top of her two gold medals, Dunnigan placed seventh in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.65 seconds and now ranks second in school history for that event. The sophomore, and last year's Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year, capped her busy day by running the lead off leg of the 4x400 meter relay as Dunnigan, Jordyn Collie, Annalise Kauffman, and Bella Johnson earned bronze medals with their time of 4:09.04 which now ranks seventh in school history.
Several members of that relay also excelled individually. Kauffman added to her accolades by placing fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:22.52 to strengthen her position as the seventh-fastest individual for that event in school history. Johnson added a seventh-place in the 400 meters (1:01.21) to move up to seventh in school history and a ninth-place showing in the 200 meters (26.87). Collie was ninth in the 400 meters (1:01.99) with the ninth-best time in school history. After a busy Saturday in the pentathlon, Amanda Imhauser scored with an eighth-place performance in the long jump (4.97m).
Women's track & field continues the postseason portion of its indoor schedule when the Diplomats travel to Ithaca, New York next Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8 for the All-Atlantic Regional Championships.
