CARLISLE, Pa. – Lauren Dunnigan, Bella Johnson, and Mackenzie Ward all won individual event titles to lead the Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team at the Little Three Championship. The Diplomats finished with 110 team points to take third in the meet. Dickinson was crowned the Little Three Champions (173 points), while Gettysburg took home second place (123 points).
Coming off of her appearance in the national indoor championships, Dunnigan was a double champion in the 100 meter hurdles (15.09 seconds) and triple jump (11.03m), while also taking bronze in the 400 meter hurdles (1:12.63). Bella Johnson was another event champion on the track. In addition to turning in the seventh-fastest 200 meter performance in school history for gold (26.68), Johnson was second in the 400 meters (1:01.13) with the 10th fastest time in program history for that event.
Ward won the javelin in her season debut with her best throw being measured at 33.19 meters. She also led the team in the discus throw (24.83m), while Jiali Pickering was F&M's best finisher in the hammer (29.95m). Amanda Imhauser excelled in the field events where she placed third with the ninth-best long jump in school history (4.91m) and led the team in the shot put (8.78m).
Hayden Adams was a top three finisher in three different events, placing second in the high jump (1.37m) and third in both the 100 meter hurdles (16.74 seconds) and pole vault (2.95 meters). Both of those bronze medals rank as top 10 marks in school history. The Diplomats added more silver medals on the track with Annalise Kauffman (2:22.40; 800m), Jordyn Collie (5:03.58), and Katie Scott (11:27.69; steeplechase). Scott competed in a dry steeplechase race and would have set the school record with that same time under a traditional race. The Diplomats were also second in both the 4x100 and 4x800 meter relays.
Women's track & field will now have the upcoming weekend away from competition before returning to action on Saturday, April 5 for the Muhlenberg Invitational.
