COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team earned three more scoring performances on Saturday during two of the Centennial Conference Outdoor Championships. The Diplomats are currently in sixth place in the team standings with 15 points heading into the final day of competition on Sunday.
The Diplomats had two individual point scorers in the steeplechase with Katie Scott and Tara Silverman both moving themselves up the F&M record books. Scott placed fifth in the steeplechase with a time 11:36.76. Her new personal best further solidifies her as the second-fastest individual in school history for that event. Silverman was just behind her in a time of 11:37.52, making her the third-fastest steeplechase runner in school history.
In the field events, Hayden Adams added a sixth-place finish to the team's score in the high jump. Just one day after scoring in the pole vault, Adams cleared 1.50 meters in the high jump. She is now tied for eighth in school history for that event.
The Diplomats additionally qualified four individuals to event finals on Sunday. Annalise Kauffman was the top qualifier in the 800 meters, with her time of 2:18.79 moving her up eighth in the school record book. Bella Johnson qualified for the finals in both the 200 meter (25.92) and 100 meter (12.57) dashes. She took respective fourth and seventh place finishes in the heats. In addition to already scoring in two events, Adams will represent F&M in the finals of the 100 meter hurdles after posting the eighth best time during the qualifying heats (16.40).
The Centennial Conference Championships wrap up Sunday on the campus of Ursinus. Events get started at 11 a.m. and will continue through the awards ceremony which is scheduled to get underway at 4:15 p.m.
