LANCASTER, Pa. – For the second year in a row, the Franklin & Marshall baseball had five student-athletes recognized on the 2025 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Team. This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Representing F&M baseball was
AJ Desautels,
Andrew Filippelli,
Kiernan Keller,
Nolan McCloskey and
Tanner Wolpert.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 1. To be eligible for this honor a student-athlete most be at least a sophomore and have completed at least one full year at their current institution in addition to maintaining a 3.5 cumulative GPA while playing in at least half of the team's contests. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Desautels was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team for the third-consecutive year. The senior started all 40 games, batting .273 with an .830 OPS this season. Desautels recorded seven doubles, two triples, three home runs and 25 RBI. The Diplomats' second baseman also led the team with 41 runs scored and 20 stolen bases in 2025.
Filippelli earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-District Team for the first time in his career following a season where he hit .301 with eight doubles, one triple and one home run. Starting in 38 games, Filippelli also drove in 30 RBI, while scoring 19 runs this season. In the field, the Diplomats' first baseman posted a .990 fielding percentage in 312 chances.
Keller was recognized on the Academic All-District Team for the second year in a row after 14 appearances on the mound this season. With three wins this season, Keller posted a 6.94 ERA with 27 strikeouts in 36.1 innings pitched. Keller also registered a save in F&M's win over Redlands, striking out three and allowing one hit against the Bulldogs.
McCloskey was selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team for the first time in his career after appearing in 31 games with 30 starts this year. McCloskey batted .337 with an OPS of .900, notching five doubles, one triple, 12 RBI and 26 runs scored. The junior also recorded an on-base percentage of .492 with 10 stolen bases this season.
Wolpert landed on the CSC Academic All-District Team for the first time in his career, appearing in 39 games with 37 starts this year. Wolpert tallied a .298 batting average and .837 OPS, while slugging .447. The junior registered nine doubles, four home runs, 34 RBI and 30 runs scored in 2025. Wolpert highlighted his season with a six-RBI game in the win over RIT in early-March.
