LANCASTER, Pa. – Michael Fleming has been announced as the Centennial Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for the third time in his career following the Diplomats' conference-opening win versus Gettysburg. Fleming won this same honor twice a season ago on his way to first-team All-Centennial Conference recognition.
In the match up with Gettysburg, Fleming was a perfect 3-for-3 in field goal attempts (24, 27 & 32 yards) and finished with a total of 11 points in the kicking game. Fleming improved to a perfect 6-for-6 in field goal attempts this season and has a career long of 44 yards. Fleming is also 16-for-17 in PATs this year and has scored 34 points this season. He is just one kick away from joining the 100 point club.
A first-team All-Centennial Conference selection a season ago, Fleming is currently tied for fifth in school history with 16 career field goals. Only four kickers in school history (Mark Slevin, Laurence Miller, Craig Marks, and Dan Eggertsson) have made a field goal longer that Fleming's 44-yard attempt versus Catholic.
Football is currently 4-0 (1-0 CC) on the year after starting Centennial Conference play with a victory. The Diplomats return to action this Saturday with a 1 p.m. start at Muhlenberg.
