LANCASTER, Pa.- For the third time this season, senior guard
Kevin Nowoswiat was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week for men's basketball.
Nowoswiat posted two double-doubles in a 2-0 week for the 19th-ranked Diplomats that featured Centennial Conference victories over Washington College and McDaniel. In Wednesday's 79-61 home win over Washington College, Nowoswiat recorded a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double, shooting 6-of-10 (60%) from the field with four assists. In Saturday's 64-55 win over McDaniel, he totaled 21 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 8-of-13 (61.5%) from the field and 5-of-6 (83.3%) on free throws with two assists and two steals. For the week, Nowoswiat averaged 18.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 61% from the field.Â
Among Centennial Conference players, Nowoswiat ranks fourth in rebounds per game (7.4), fifth in points per game (16.1), fifth in free throw percentage (73.2%), sixth in field goal percentage (46.7%), ninth in assists per game (2.6), and he leads the conference in minutes per game (34.2).
While it's the third time Nowoswiat was named player of the week (Dec. 2, Nov. 18), it's the fourth occasion that F&M has won the award after
Steve Donahue became first time player of the week last month (Jan. 6). For his career, Nowoswiat is now a five-time player of the week.Â
The No. 19 Franklin & Marshall men's basketball team travels to Ursinus on Wednesday, February 4, with tip-off slated for 7:00 p.m.
