Men's & Women's Swimming Compete at Millersville Last Chance Invite

MILLERSVILLE, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall men's and women's swimming teams logged their final competitive times ahead of Centennial Conference Swimming Championships during Saturday morning's Millersville Last Chance Meet.

Women's Swimming

The women's swimming team competed in seven events at the invite, earning six event victories over competitors from Millersville and Kutztown.

Madi Bickford earned a pair sprint freestyle wins, earning gold in the 50 freestyle (24.90) and 100 freestyle (53.48). Matti Harvey (24.98, season-best) and Kala Zingle (25.69, personal-best) completed a sweep of the top-three spots in the 50 freestyle, while Caitlin Barr claimed second in the 100 freestyle (55.19) for her best mark of the year. 

Barr did post the best time in the 100 butterfly (1:01.28), her best event time of the season, while Abbey Schofield was one spot behind (1:05.68). Schofield also bested one competitor in the 200 butterfly (2:21.26) to win the event.

Harvey also earned second in the 200 freestyle (2:02.13) for a season-best time followed by Eliza Craw in third place (2:05.98) with a new personal best.

Zingle was the lone swimmer in the 200 IM (2:19.88), while Samantha Taylor was the only competitor in the 200 breaststroke (2:36.46).

Men's Swimming

Sam Kamdin was the lone men's swimmer for the Diplomats at Millersville, in an invite that also featured Kutztown. He was the only men's competitor to enter both the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke at the meet. He posted a 48.56 in the 100 freestyle and a 57.19 in the 100 backstroke.
