LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team closed out the home portion of its regular season in style as the Diplomats won five events, set two school records, and had seven top-10 performances in school history at the Mini Dip Invitational. That meet was the final competition inside the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center before the Centennial Conference Championship at the end of the month.
Annalise Kauffman was an individual champion and broke the school record in the 600 meter race as she crossed the line 1:38.92. That mark broke the previous school record held by Sydney Dzenutis (1:41.40) from her senior season in 2023. Kauffman was also the team's top finisher in the 400 meters where she took third (1:02.54). In addition to the school record, Emily Jones (1:44.85) and Abby Bachman (1:48.26) recorded the fourth and sixth-fastest times during the 600 meter race.
Lauren Dunnigan won the 60 meter hurdles in a time 9.04 seconds. Already the school record holder in that event, Dunnigan added her fourth indoor school record in the 300 meters when she crossed the line in 42.24 seconds to break the previous record that was held by Kaitlin Muccio '19 (43.01).
Tara Silverman (mile – 5:18.07) and Katie Scott (3,000m – 10:57.68) were additional individual champions on the track for the Diplomats as the team capped its day with a victory in the 4x400 relay. That team of Dunnigan, Avery Canady, Lillian Williams, and Arek Giir finished in 4:17.26. Williams was also F&M's top finisher in the 200 meters (28.85 seconds) during her collegiate debut. Other standout performances on the track included top five finishes from Jordyn Collie (2:24.43) and Silverman (2:25.08) in the 800 meters, with Collie's time ranking 10th all-time in school history. Georgia Hodgson added to the distance excellence by placing fourth in the 5,000 meter race (19:46.27).
Hayden Adams and Max McCoy each led the Diplomats in a pair of field events. Adams was the runner-up in the high jump when she cleared 1.50 meters to improve to eighth all-time in school history. She additionally finished sixth in the pole vault by clearing 3.03 meters. McCoy's top individual placement came when she took fifth in the shot put (11.00m). McCoy added the sixth-best weight throw in school history to her day with her best mark coming at 13.06 meters.
Women's track & field will have two more meets before the conference championship at the end of the month. The first of those meets will be next Saturday, February 14 when the Diplomats compete at the Susquehanna Invitational.
