WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team started competition in the Sam Snead Collegiate Tournament, playing the first two rounds at Golden Horseshoe Golf Club on Monday. The Diplomats shot 19-over par in round one and 15-over par in round two to sit in 11th place out of 21 teams competing at the par-71, 6,878-yard course.
Max Silverman ended the day as the lone Diplomat in the top-10 of the individual standings. Silverman scored even-par in the opening round, followed by a two-over par score in round two to hold a tie for seventh out of 108 competitors.
Wayne He shot three-over par in the first round and two-over par in the second round to tie for 19th in the field.
Jake Kurtzman tallied an eight over par, followed by a six-over par to finish the day tied for 69th.
Oliver Clark shot eight-over in round one and seven-over in the second round to sit in a tie for 76th place.
David McNamara improved by six strokes, scoring a five-over in round two to enter the final round in a tie for 82nd.
Franklin & Marshall looks to make a strong push in the final round of the Sam Snead Collegiate Tournament, teeing off Tuesday afternoon.
