WAYNESBORO, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team began the Centennial Conference (CC) Championship Tournament, leading the field of eight teams competing at Waynesboro Country Club on Friday. The Diplomats shot six-under par to hold a four-stroke lead through day one at the par-72, 6,596-yard course. Franklin & Marshall's 282 score on Friday was the second-best team opening round score in CC history.
Max Silverman led F&M by firing a three-under par score to end the opening round in third place, sitting just one-stroke behind the lead. Silverman carded an eagle, two birdies, and 14 pars during the first 18 holes of the tournament.
Wayne He shot two-under par as he notched five birdies and 10 pars to tie for fourth in the field of 40 competitors.
Oliver Clark closely followed with a one-under par to tie for sixth as he recorded four birdies and 12 pars in Friday's round.
Jake Kurtzman ended the day even-par as he earned four birdies and 11 pars to tie for ninth.
David McNamara concluded his round seven-over par with three birdies and nine pars to sit in a tie for 26th.
