Men's Golf Maintains Lead Through Second Round of CC Championship

WAYNESBORO, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team maintained its lead throughout the second round of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championship Tournament Saturday afternoon at Waynesboro Country Club. The Diplomats shot two-under par to brings its overall score to eight-under par at the par-72, 6,596-yard course. Franklin & Marshall's 36-hole score of 568 is the second-lowest in CC Championship history.

Max Silverman brought his overall score to six-under par after firing another three-under par in round two. Silverman recorded four birdies and 13 pars to hold a tie for the lead in the field of 40 individual golfers. Oliver Clark carded a two-under par on Saturday to bring his overall score to three-under par. Clark tallied one eagle, one birdie, and 15 pars in the second round to sit in fifth. Wayne He slightly fell in the individual standings after registering a two-over par on day two, tying for eighth with an overall score of even-par. After shooting even-par in round one, Jake Kurtzman shot three-over par on Saturday to hold a tie for 12th. David McNamara improved six strokes from his first-round score by firing a one-over par on day two. McNamara brought his overall score to eight-over par, maintaining a tie for 23rd entering the final round.

The Diplomats hold a four-stroke lead over McDaniel going into the third round of the CC Championship. F&M looks to finish strong when it tees off the final round Sunday afternoon at Waynesboro Country Club.
