LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf were honored with All-Centennial Conference (CC) recognition after winning their 15th CC title last weekend.
Max Silverman earned a spot on the All-Centennial Conference Team, while
Deryl Denlinger,
Andy Tompos '69, and
David Denlinger were named the CC Coaching Staff of the Year. Additionally,
Oliver Clark was selected to represent the Diplomats on the Centennial All-Sportsmanship Team.
Silverman led Franklin & Marshall throughout the Centennial Conference Championship, firing a 211 (five-under par) score for the tournament to place fourth and earn a spot on the All-CC team for the first time in his career. The Old Westbury, New York native tallied one eagle, eight birdies, and 41 pars during the three-day tournament.
In addition to his great performance at the CC Championship, Silverman holds a team-leading 72.5 average score per round this season, playing in 23 rounds this year. The junior notched six top-10 finishes, three top-five placements, and two tournament victories this season with his most recent win coming in the F&M Spring Invitational. Silverman's 66 in the opening round of the home invitational is the team's lowest round score, so far this year.
The F&M coaching staff was awarded CC Coaching Staff of the Year, as selected by the other Centennial coaches. In
Deryl Denlinger's first season as head coach of the Diplomats, F&M earned four first-place finishes, highlighted by the program's 15th Centennial Conference Championship. Franklin & Marshall last won Coaching Staff of the Year in 2024 and has received the award 10 times in program history.
Clark was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team for the first time in his career. Clark finished in a tie for eighth in the CC Championship, recording a 216 score in the tournament. The Baltimore, Maryland native carded one eagle, seven birdies, and 38 pars across three rounds to finish even-par. Clark averages a round score of 73.5, which is currently second-best on the team. The sophomore fired a season-low round score of 68 in the opening round of The Gauntlet in September. Clark also had his best finish come in early-October at the Sinking Valley Collegiate Classic, placing second in the tournament.
Franklin & Marshall now prepares for the NCAA Championship Tournament, beginning on Tuesday, May 12 at Mission Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida.
