Men's Golf Opens NCAA Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team returned to the NCAA Tournament for the 18th time in program history Tuesday morning at Mission Inn Resort and Club. The Diplomats recorded a team-score of 29-over par to sit in 43rd in the team standings. F&M finished its round before round one was suspended due to dangerous weather conditions in the area.

Oliver Clark led the Diplomats in the opening round, tallying three birdies and nine pars on the day for a 75 (four-over par), tying for 135th in the field of 225 individual competitors. Jake Kurtzman and Wayne He both ended the day shooting 79 (eight-over par) to tie each other for 204th. He carded one of nine eagles recorded during the first round, while also notching 11 pars. Kurtzman concluded his day with one birdie and 11 pars on the scorecard. David McNamara followed with nine pars in round one to shoot an 80 (nine-over par) and place in a tie for 212th. Max Silverman rounded out F&M with one birdie and seven pars to end the day with an 82 (11-over par), tying for 218th.

Round one will be finished on Wednesday morning. The second round of the NCAA Championship will tee off shortly after the conclusion of the opening round.
