HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team had three players recognized on the PING All-Region Team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Wayne He and
Max Silverman both earned all-region honors for the second time in their respective careers, while
Oliver Clark was named to the all-region team for the first time in his career.
Oliver Clark ended the Centennial Conference (CC) Championship in a tie for eighth, carding a 216 score in the tournament. The sophomore recorded one eagle, seven birdies, and 38 pars across three rounds to finish even-par. Clark averages a round score of 73.5, which is currently second-best on the team. Clark shot a season-low round score of 68 in the opening round of The Gauntlet in September. The Baltimore, Maryland native also had his best finish come in early-October at the Sinking Valley Collegiate Classic, placing second in the individual standings.
Wayne He tied Clark for eighth in the conference championship with an even-par across the three-day tournament. He tallied 12 birdies and 31 pars in the CC Championship to place in the top-10 in the tournament for the second-consecutive season. The sophomore sports an average round score of 73.7 this year with three top-five finishes. He shot his season-best round score of 69 during the first round of the Dickinson Spring Invitational, placing third in the tournament.
Max Silverman led the Diplomats throughout the Centennial Championship, notching a 211 (five-under par) score for the tournament to place fourth in the field of 40 individual competitors, earning all-conference honors. The junior recorded one eagle, eight birdies, and 41 pars during the tournament. Silverman holds a team-leading 72.5 average score per round this season, playing in 23 rounds this year. The Old Westbury, New York native has six top-10 finishes, three top-five placements, and two tournament victories this season with his most recent win coming in the F&M Spring Invitational. Silverman's 66 in the opening round of the home invitational is the team's lowest round score, so far this spring.
