Softball Splits Wednesday

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

F&M 15, UMass-Dartmouth 1 | Fredonia State 6, FM 1 (8 inn.)

FT. MYERS, Fla. - Franklin & Marshall's softball team split the day in Florida with a 15-1 win over UMass-Dartmouth and an eight inning, 6-1 loss to Fredonia State. The Diplomats moved to 9-3 on the season.

Meredith Morgan drove in four runs on three doubles to aid her cause in the circle. She worked a complete game, striking out 10 batters and surrendering an unearned run. Lauren Incorvaia added two more home runs  - both three-run blasts - to run her season total to six. That breaks the school's single season record for round trips, set by Incorvaia back in the 2006 season. She finished the day with six RBIs on and two additional hits. Jessika Mancino had three runs on as many hits. She stole a pair of bases.

Mancino had three hits and two steals again in the second game. The Diplomats had five opportunities to win in regulation, but repeatedly stranded runners in scoring position sending the game into extra innings.

The Diplomats wrap up their Florida swing tomorrow with games against Wisconsin-Superior and Western New England.
