LITITZ, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's men's golf team
shot a 308 on Monday to capture the Bent Creek Invitational with
seven strokes on the 16-team field. The Diplomats took their second
consecutive tournament by landing two golfers in the top ten and
four in the top 20.
The win was the second consecutive invitational won by the
Diplomats, who took last Thursday's Blue Jay Invitational. F&M
has won its own tournament in five of the last six outings.
Cameron
Warner, III paced the Diplomats, carding a 75 on the par 71
course at Bent Creek Country Club. His effort was good enough for
seventh place and was four strokes off of Moravian's Thomas Fenyak
championship 71. Fenyak's Greyhounds finished in second place with
a 315. For Warner, the seventh place finish marks the
12th top ten effort through the 25 events he has
played.
F&M's Danny Liebowitz
also finished in the top ten with a 76, leaving him in a three-way
tie for eighth place. Liebowitz landed in the top ten for the
14th time in 26 career tournaments.
Mike
Levenson tied for 14th place with Moravian's Luke
Smith, each having shot 78. Jeremy Rubin tied
for 16th place to round out the championship scoring
with a 79. Playing as an individual entrant, F&M's Zach
Bereznak was in the tie for 16th along with Rubin and
York's Andrew Schmel.
Brendan
Mohler wrapped up the F&M five tying for 26th
place with an 81.
The Diplomats second entry finished in 10th
place with a 330, a single stroke behind Stevens Tech and
Wesley. Franklin & Marshall "White" placed four golfers
in the top 35 in the 85-golfer field. Dave Gilbert and Kevin
Goserud both shot 82 and finished in a five-way tie for
29th place. Steve Colalillo
and Jin Hwang
each shot an 83 and landed in a seven-way tie for 34th.
Harry
Russell shot 86 to finish in a tie for 51st.
The Diplomats close out the fall slate this weekend at the ECAC
